Preconference Special Workshop,
June 23-24:
Insurance Education Institute for Middle School and High
School Teachers
- A Financial Literacy Graduate Course for Teachers on Risk
Management and Insurance.
- FREE: 3 Semester Hours Credit and $75 Stipend.
- Complete the Application Form. DEADLINE: April 15, 2010.
- Materials will be sent from the Insurance Education Institute.
There is an online component starting in May prior to the 2-day
workshop in June. Hybrid course featuring online, chat room and two day on-site
segment.
- Enrollment is limited to approximately 40 teachers, so sign up early.

Keynote Speakers:

Dr. Anthony G. (Tony) Kinkel was named President
of Pikes P
eak
Community College on February 15, 2007. Since his arrival, he has
been instrumental in creating unique partnerships between PPCC and
local secondary and post-secondary schools. Before coming to
Colorado, Dr. Kinkel served as Chancellor of the University of
Arkansas Community College at Batesville, Executive Director of the
Maryland Association of Community Colleges (MACC), and was a
Minnesota state legislator for 15 years. While in the legislature,
he served on the Education Committee and represented Minnesota on
the Education Commission of the States. Dr. Kinkel started his
career in education as a high school social studies teacher.

Jennifer Korb is the President of the Internet
Safety Foundation who has been working closely with the US
Department of Justice, Fox Interactive Media, Qwest, Comcast,
Boulder Valley School District, Wheeler, Trigg, Kennedy and Internet
Crimes Against Children Task Force to promote Internet Safety
throughout Colorado.

Madge Gregg, NBEA President Elect, is
a business teacher at
Hoover HighSchool in Hoover, Alabama, Madge is the recipient of the
2009 NBEA Secondary Teacher of the Year Award. She serves on the
Governing Council for the National Business Honor Society recently
launching the first chapter of the National Business Honor
Society at Hoover. She has served as secretary/treasurer of NBEA,
president of the Southern Business Education Association, and
president of the Alabama Business Education Association.
